Pick of the Week: Coral Shorts
Starting a new segment because of my lack of posting!
This week's top pick are the Coral Shorts from the new Windows on the World America collection. In no way do these represent America, but accuracy is less of an issue when looking at the item itself. The graphics on this piece are stellar. Semi-realistic movement and bunching in the shorts will make it a wanted piece in the future.
For a preppy look, try pairing the shorts with a collared shirt, matching cardigan and a pair or neutral oxfords.
If you're more of a retro to grunge girl, wearing the shorts with a tee from Decades, fedora, and vintage ankle booties might be more your speed.
Dressing up? Try making the shorts the key piece by pairing it with neutral accessories like black or white strappy sandals, a small bag, and a nice belt. Don't forget the blazer and tee to complete the look.
Thoughts? Opinions? Comment below. Anons welcome.

Modern action films are beginning to feature stronger, more assertive women. Films like Sucker Punch, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Hunger Games, Hanna and more are excellent examples of women who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty in exchange for what they want.
Achieving this look is in fact not too difficult. The key to success is in the reddish brown, bedraggled cheeks. To obtain this look with a brown blush, either simply layer the blush, or even better, place a stroke of a redish, pink, or orangey tinted rouge underneath the brown. I found that a stroke of Burnt Orange Blush followed by the Rose Blush, and finally blended by the Natura Faces blush created the most aesthetically pleasing look, though the look was lighter and had a more bruised effect. The most important part of attaining this look is to not be afraid to layer the blushes and use a large amount of them.

Hot Buys: Geometric Dress
Not quite accurate to its title, this newly released dress lacks in straight lines, making the only geometric quality of it the sum of poorly drawn shapes. I personally am not fond of this dress other than the fact that it has the exclusive title of "Hot Buy". The colors on this dress go well together, but are not in season, defeating the actual purpose of being a "Hot Buy". This dress is allegedly inspired by the cut of a black and white Alexander McQueen dress paired with the recolored print of a Topshop dress.

Hot Buys: Zipper Pocket Jeans
Stardoll HotBuys frequently follow the seasons trends. These jeans from Bisou fit just that criteria. Their orange color is very similar to the muted tone seen on the runways in coats, shoes, jackets, and more. Also taken into account is the "dirty" type style in dress and makeup that can be frequently seen around Stardoll. This trend requires a layer of dirt or grunge, usually in brown to dust tones, over the clothing and makeup of the user to create the desired effect.
Cropped pants are scheduled to be a big hit in 2012 as well. These cargo pants are cropped at about mid shin to display the lower, thinner part of the leg. At 16 SD, these pants are a touch on the pricey side for a Hot Buy that will theoretically only last one season until the style comes back into fashion or it is considered vintage. For the Spring season, this is an excellent buy and the graphics are quite exemplary with the exception that the graphic designer could have put 10 more minutes worth of effort into the zippers to make them more detailed. The knees on this piece are very high quality and give off a very pulled up or ruched feel.

Hot Buys: Polka Dot Romper
Recently released on the 6th of February, the Hot Buys Polka Dot Romper's name is a touch deceptive. The pattern appearing on the onesie is not in fact polka dots, but polka stars. None the matter, from afar they still appear to be the small circles they are advertised to be. The starts on the romper give the piece more personality and individuality, as it is easier to find a small circle pattern in the bazaars of our lovely Stardoll than to find a neutral print with tiny stars.
Hailing from the feminine shop Pretty in Love, the lace accents on this romper give it just the graceful touch that it needs to fit right in with the pink and silk layered store. The graphics are also quite exemplary, the shading and details in near perfect balance with one another. The artist has also taken into account the bubble hem that divides the onesie in two parts, a bottom, bloomer like part, and a top camisole part.
A touch on the pricey side at 19 SD, this piece may not be the best for dolls with a very defined, specific style, unless it would fit with their other pieces. The piece is not incredibly versatile, but with the proper layering the lace accents and stars could be adjusted out to form a very chic or modern outfit. The lace leg area has large potential as it could be shown underneath short skirts or other bloomer like pants.

P.S. I think I just got myself on the bad list of an anonymous hate blogger for defending PrincessLicha, which is just going to be all fine and dandy... Thankfully no one really reads that blog, but the blogger posted the link to her rant in PrincessLicha's guest book, which is really quite cruel.

Seasonal Mascara
Mascara, arguably, is the foundation of successful eye makeup. The most common makeup seen on Stardoll, and on most women in Europe and America, eyelashes are all the hit. Spring 2012 trends are promoting lengthy and voluminous black eyelashes that can range anywhere from the looks of porcelain doll to bohemian princess. Fake or natural, anything goes this season.
Using any basic black volumizing mascara on Stardoll, one can achieve the think and black but short lashes look. This look is good for not wanting to have super long lashes and wanting a fuller effect. This is seen in more Winter type outfits as it gives off a sense of wisdom and compactness, unlike the longer, individual pieces seen below which is more of a Summery look due to the fresh, youthful vibe from the makeup.
Lenthening mascara on Stardoll will give you this fresh, fashionable look. This is the look being achieved on today's runways. Fresh is the key word here, it being that the emerging of spring and the individual, light, emerging look of the eyes is what really makes the look very Spring/Summer. This look is more youthful and lighter than the volumizing mascara as one can see all the individual eyelashes and then and they are not all stuck together. Overall, they are not as heavy as the darker, thicker eyelashes.
This look above is the combination of the lenghtening and volumizing mascara. Subtly reminds me of Madonna. This look is fairly versatile, and works for the more Fall type look as the the temperatures fluctuate between the warmth of Summer and the cold of Winter. In fall, things are just starting to die but the life of the plants still needs to be shown, making this ideal for that. This is also very effective for making eyes pop out with a ring of black around them. Also, this combo of mascaras is the most frequently seen on Stardoll. It is easy to wear, and very versatile, though expanding your horizons and trying out new looks can truly benefit an outfit by making it more personalized and creative.

Spring 2012 Makeup Tutorial
Spring; Fresh, new, free and light. The season's change calls for lighter, brighter colors to celebrate the rebirth of the world and where I live, the return of the sun for once. Fresh rains and blooming flowers give the world a clean start. Mint and light pinks and blues are coming into fashion alongside the turning of the earth to create this youthful look. Inspired by the runways of 2012, I give you Spring.
Valentines Day

Valentines day. The day where girls become jaded and nothing becomes good enough for the rest of the year. Expectations are higher, and love is in the air. Originally a day to celebrate love for each other, customary practices are sending one's significant other a gift, chocolates, flowers, cards, 'I hate valentine's day' parties, punching hearts, bitching, etc.
In commemoration of this event, Stardoll has released fairly pricey makeup lines in DOT and DOREE
The graphics are actually quite poor, for example, when you pick one up you get a low very quality version as shown below.

Actually, when you pick them up they're serious crap considering that that's probably Stardoll's default pencil pre-color decision. I'd think that, considering they're a large corporation, they would be sure to review all their items for flaws before release. At least this lets us do easy photo shop to them.
Stardoll has given us eyebrow pencils, so now if you feel so inclined, you can have fuchsia eyebrows! Yay! Unnatural!
They have also re-released lip liners in various unnatural, pointless colors for every other not Haute Couture day. They are very un-versatile and slightly tacky. The blushes don't do the collection any justice either. Kinda bright and hard to wear.
Doree has new faces for this collection, making it look very tack and disorganized, like my posts, jk, no really....
This collection would have been a lot more successful if they had bothered to make highlighters out of all the colors and had used the default Doree face.
Named "Deepening Rose", this vibrant pink color lacks in relation to its name due to the non-rosy hue. This color is more of a hot pink that's not too light, making it a good punk rock color.
Killer Carmine red. Good for lips, not good for a blush, which, strangely, it comes in. This color is okay. Neither here, nor there, really
Electric Fuchsia. This color resembles something the stereotypical Tokyan would wear. Kinda too bright for me. Maybe something more to a tacky new member who just turned superstar rather than for a more refined style.
Violet's Hope better hope it actually gets used for something. This uber bright color attracts all the attention to itself like the color above unless muted. What can I say about this color? Not much. Good for purple smoky eyes, very bright, modern disco, not a color I would ever really wear, maybe you can find a way to use it.
Cousin to Violet's Hope, Violet Mystery isn't really a mystery at all. It's dark purple. Get over it.
Royal Embrace is the name of this shade of blue purple color. This isn't a bad color for blending blues and purples, but other than that, like I am with most of these colors, I am unable to tell you really what you would use them for.
This color is called Dusk's Kiss. Whatever that's supposed to mean, I don't know. This is an off black tone that is good if you don't want true black or want something to look washed out. I have no idea why they put this in lipstick form.
This was a makeup look I created with only the valentines day makeup. Tutorial will be made if requested :)
I really wasn't into this post today. I'm going to post a tutorial.

Tangerine Tango
Ranging from vivid yellow tone of Solar Power to the smooth and neutral Sandalwood, spring of 2012 has an diverse range of colors coming it's way. Girly, feminine pastel shades like Mint and Baby Blue subtly appear on the runways in young blouses and skirts. Layered neutrals in colors such as the beige Starfish and lightly purple tinted Driftwood show off the chic and refined side of fashion while brighter, optimistic colors like Cabaret's hot pink tones and the calming hue of Bellflower add the spark of life to our everyday lives. The front-leading color for 2012 is in the vibrant category and is slowly seeping its way into fashion through dresses and coats, Tangerine Tango is just the refreshing color we all need for the year ahead.
See Aphiba to request Tangerine Tango Stardesign items, or try for yourself!

Jack as Eliteproject?

At this point in time many of you have heard that Jack (freeduck_) has claimed on his presentation to be Eliteproject, who claims to be Noelle (noelle_page). Eliteproject has told us her "secrets" by using the "read the first letter of every line" cliche technique. The last time we heard anything from her, her "hidden" message read "I AM NOELLE".
Before claiming that she was Noelle, in her presentation months earlier, she made the claim that "NOELLE IS DEAD", which has, evidently, turned out to be untrue.
Eliteproject has made no further comment on Noelle being dead, considering that she claims that she, Bubblyminty, and Isabella.Arci are all Noelle.
Eliteproject is a liar.
Jack is a also liar.
We have two liars causing drama.
The other day, as I mentioned earlier, Jack posted the poem/awful lyrics/thing below on his presentation

(pic credit to BFM)
That clearly reads, if you look at every first letter, "I AM ELITEPROJECT"
Now, Eliteproject denies this by saying basically that Jack is dumb, a famewhore, and lying.
Jack just claims that he's a famewhore.
Many stardollians out there want to do things like "throw our virtual handbags at them" or "remove him from PSG". If you ask me, I think all of those things are just a touch rash. See here, if I were Eliteproject, I'd just accuse all the angry commenter's of being Noelle. But I'm not.
This whole "Noelle is dead", "Eliteproject is Noelle", "Noelle is an angel", and "Everyone is Noelle" business has been going on for too long. It's ridiculous.
I think, that Jack, much like me and a whole bunch of other blog readers, are tired of this ridiculous, fake, publicity stunt that has been pulled off by Eliteproject and Noelle.
This is an interview of Eliteproject dissected Juicy-much (Joanna), the interview itself was done by Tinsley (Fiorama)

(pic credit BFM)
Contradicting much? She says she is not Noelle, but claims to be Noelle in the same interview. She also indirectly claims to be insane by stating that Noelle has "Angels" and that Noelle is "the divine creator". That's insane. Will Stardoll retort to church and a religion worshiping our "elites" like Noelle and Aslin? This sounds absurd. I'm sure that if that becomes the case we will have plenty of religious drama over who's the real "Stardoll Deity". Claiming to be the deity himself, is Jack.
Jack is a liar. We know that from his "Jack is dead/in the hospital/motorcycle accident" stunt that he pulled a while ago. But
Jack is joking. It's a joke. A quite funny one that too.
Like I've said before, this whole Noelle thing is ridiculous. So, so absurdly ridiculous. I suspect that Jack just decided to have his own little fun and claim to be Eliteproject. Why not?
It makes perfect sense. If Eliteproject is Noelle, and Noelle is the Elite, Jack is the Elite, then Jack is Eliteproject. Just messing with the lying Eliteproject.
That really didn't make sense so here, let me explain
Elite Project claims Noelle is dead, then accuses others of being Noelle after revealing she is alive
Blogs go wild
Elite Project causes more Noelle drama
Jack finds this amusing, therefore claims to be EliteProject to piss her off and cause a little drama.
Better?
She totally deserves it...
Elementary my dear.
